Evaluation 4: How did you use technologies in the construction, research, planning and evaluations stages?

In creating my Music video, I used three major editing softwares, that being Adobe Premiere, AfterEffects and PhotoShop.

Once i had knew what i was going to film and what is was going to be about i used Microsoft Word to note down everything i had in mind so that i didn't lose it all throughout the construction process, i made a whole 2 pages filled with the ideas of what i was going to film, the narrative, what i would have in shots, what shots i was planning, when i was going to film and who i would be filming with, this word document was my hub for everything music video, although for my shot-list, i needed something a bit more grid like, so i used Microsoft Excel. Microsoft Excel is a spreadsheet based programme which came incredibly useful for my shot-list, this being a long list of all my intended shots for my music video, with a number of how many shots i originally planned to have, what type of shots i was intending to have, what time of the music video they appeared at and the definition of each shot, for example: Character standing on large stone, longshot, 2:41. This completely kept track of each shot specifically, and the time it was in the spotlight for. It incredibly helped to structure the music video in each stages of construction, from the start when i was considering what i was going to make, until the end when i imported all the clips to Premiere and i needed to know when they were making an appearance.

I used these applications for many different things, but altogether, mainly AfterEffects. Firstly, i recorded my footage, and then deciding what i was going to do with the clips in relation with my music video timing (considering half of it would be in black and white) i would decipher the clips into which would be altered on AfterEffects. I then used Premiere, to stitch all the clips together, that being the end half so that my media product took form. I then edited the minor things in Premiere like importing the music from USB, and further editing it into the project, unlinking and deleting all the unnecessary sound which came with all the clips which filtered out the music and moved clips in the right position so that they worked perfectly with the music.

I then imported all the clips that needed to be edited on AfterEffects and started making compositions. I imported the clips in their own independent composition which did two things; allow me to spend more time on each, and have unique lighting for each which suited what the atmosphere and tone was meant to be. So then i started to work on each composition, adding the frames to 1080p 60fps for the best quality the programme served, i then altered the colour correction with tinting the videos, making them black and white, and then curving on an axis the brightness and contrast to give the perfect shot lighting. This significantly helped create the dark atmosphere I was attempting to grasp which effected the whole atmosphere of the video throughout.
