16th March 2018 - Editing the Album Cover

Introduction

On this page i will explain how i edited my album cover for 'Heroes'

First of all i took photos which related to my music video which would look good for my cover art. I got a range of potential photos of different angles of pieces of paper on the wall, different shots from outside but narrowed it all down to the best. I used Photoshop on the chosen photos and added in things like Barcodes to one cover, the record label Parlophone Records to another and a track-list full of made up songs for the album, number one being the song for my music video. I enhanced each shot with altering the colour and brightness to make it look more attractive.

The front cover was also edited with photoshop although the name of the song was written down on paper. I decided to do this as it strongly directly links the album cover to the music video showing the title written down like all the problems the character faces on the pieces of paper, i made the rest of the pieces plain so that the audience wouldn't be distracted from anything else.

I used the empty bench for a cover to represent the outside world seen in the music video before the character reaches it, being empty. It further gives the album tone, as the audience will see an empty park bench which connotes to aloneness and sadness which is the exact atmosphere of Heroes.

As a result, it looked very successful and professional to the expected standard taken from feedback.
